TLOG, Trinidad Lake Asphalt Oil and Gas Limited was registered in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009 in accordance with the companies act 1995 to operate as a business entity in the Hydrocarbon Sector including, upstream, downstream and midstream activities. This involves Exploration, Mining, Procurement, Engineering, Construction and Building and Project Management.
Due to TLOGs performance in several activities in the energy sector, in South America and Africa, TLOG was appointed as the sole distributor and exclusive agent for West Africa for Lake Asphalt of Trinidad & Tobago Ltd (LATT) products by Lake Asphalt Trinidad and Tobago Limited – A Government owned enterprise involved in the exploration, mining, processing and export of Bitumen and Asphalt resources. LATT is the world’s number one supplier of its famous Bitumen Modifier (TLA – Trinidad Lake Asphalt), Bituminous Coats, Black Paint, Sealants, Guards, and Emulsion. Its products have been tested internationally with quality assurance certifications.
TLOG has been operating across Nigeria; particularly in Edo State, Lagos State, Cross Rivers state, and also with the Federal Ministry of Works on different road construction and rehabilitation projects. This includes product sales and promotions, applications and training. TLOG also provides Bituminous coats and guards for pipes and pipeline protection for the upstream oil and gas industry, including training and support services. And underbody guards for the automobile industry.
TLOG has been instrumental in the development and promotion of the “cold-storage” technology for Asphalt which allows it to be transported easily, stored and used at sites when needed. This has allowed for reductions in product loss and generated dynamic use.
TLOG have also been instrumental in bringing together its technical partners, LATT to explore joint venture opportunities with the Ministry of Solid Minerals in Nigeria and the Bitumen Implementation Project Committee (BIPC) for the exploitation of bitumen blocks, for which they have vast knowledge and experience.
We are also exploring opportunities in the gas sector. We have developed Gasprenueship programs for training individuals and companies in Gas monetisation.
This has given us an extensive reach especially in the Niger delta areas of Southern Nigeria. Our aim is to help develop the Hydrocarbon Sector in regions we operate, providing extensive knowledge and expertise to help bridge the energy divide. With the able leadership of Chief Dr Wallace W Williams, The “Bobadega of Imobiland” Ogun State, a son of the soil of both Trinidad & Tobago and Nigeria (with his ancestral village in Igueben Edo State), he is Chairman/CEO of TLOG, he has formed synergies across Africa in technology, and cultural exchanges: TLOG was instrumental to the training of Nigerian upstream engineers in Trinidad and Tobago in under water welding, operations and pipeline integrity.
Today, TLOG is making strides in expanding the scope of LATT in the Bitumen and Asphalt market in Africa, and also providing needed expertise in mining technology and supply chain dynamics. The journey has been interesting and challenging and we are geared towards performance with best practices and safety standards.
